This state of the art equipment is used for collection of specific components like platelets and plasma by a process called Apheresis. Also used for therapeutic purposes such as plasma exchange programmes.

Platelets are stored in this machine at 20-24 Deg C in a state of continuous agitation to prevent them from clumping together. Platelets can be stored this way for upto 5 days.

The Expressor by Baxter is used to separate / express out the Plasma once the Red Cell Concentrate has settled down in the bags.

The Cryo Centrifuge is used for making blood components. The perfectly balanced rotor spins the blood and separates the Red Cells and Plasma.

Specially designed refrigerators in which Whole Blood and Red Cell Concentrate are stored before issuing to the patient. Storage temperature is between 2-4 Deg C.

Another state-of-the-art equipment, a fully automated Microprocessor - ELISA system used for testing HIV1 and HIV2, Hepatitis B & C. This machine gives accurate results of infections in the donor's blood.
